Nat the Gymnast

Last night I took Natalie to her last Gymnastics class. It just grabs my heart when I walk 0.5 feet in the door and she's standing there yelling "Aunty Kaykee!!! NASTICS!!" Jumping up and down with joy. Although I think she will be more of a runner than a gymnast, as I spent a lot of the class chasing her around the gym. She has so much fun with all the other 2 and 3 year olds. She surprised me when I first took her, me thinking "How much can a 2 year old actually follow in a class of 12 kids?!". Well she knows how to do a motorcycle stop, a frog jump, a star, a pencil, rolling on the mat, she can walk the beam and jump. She has a blast and though she may not be doing exactly what the exercise is, she is having fun doing it her own way which is important. She is pictured above with her own little certificate and badge for completion of the class. Michelle said she will definitely try and get her into another class as she just loves it there. What a doll in her leotards!

So Friday I left work and headed south on the highway towards Canmore, AB. It was an interesting drive due to the 90 km/hour winds pushing against my truck. But I made it safe, arrived to our beautiful hotel room at the Falcon Crest Lodge with a gorgeous view of the mountains. I love being in the mountains, it's definitely one of my favourite places to be. So that night we went out for dinner and some cocktails with a few of Troy's co-workers. In the morning we went for a scrumptious breakfast with friends and then putsed around the town. Troy had his hair cut and we did a little bit of shopping. I didn't get too many pictures this weekend though as we were always busy doing something.

Headed back to the hotel around 3:30pm for a nap and then had to get ready for the Christmas party. It was a great night with a delicious buffet feast and many glasses of wine! Woke up Sunday and headed into Calgary for a visit with my sister and dad. I managed to get a little bit of Christmas shopping done, and had a nice visit. Overall it was a good weekend spent with some great people!

Here are a few shots of my weekend fun:

Just a quick note as I am off to my 10:15pm soccer game on the west end.....WHO DOES THAT ANYWAYS?! Just because i'm in my twenties doesn't mean I want to play soccer that late. Like come on people! Anyways, Tomorrow I am off to Canmore for the weekend for the boyfriend's Christmas Party. Whoot! No posts for me until I am back on Sunday. Hope you have a great weekend, I know I will :) I will leave you with a couple shots of the babes.

Penaten Prankster

Natalie is obsessed with Penaten Cream. She tries her hardest to get her little hands ahold of that little blue and gold tin of baby cream. Michelle has stumbled across her daughter with it all over her face, hands, hair, feet, legs and tummy many a time. I've caught her only a couple times. I had to share these shots with you. I love the top right pic of her on the stairs. I think her parents will be seeing that face frequently as she grows up!

Fun-Du Party

Friday night's "Fun-du" Party went really well. Lots of food, drinks, laughs and close friends. All the girls came over and everyone pitched in prepping, cooking, mixing and baby watching, like one giant team! First was my friend Terri's cheese fondu with French bread and vegetables, delicious! Then Terri whipped up a broth base and a vegetable base to cook the Chicken, Steak and Shrimp in. She had also made some sauces at home to dip them in. As if we weren't already stuffed enough, I melted the chocolate and got the Chocolate Fountain flowing. We used fresh strawberries, pineapple and bananas to dip in the chocolate. Perfect topper on a perfect night.

Thanks again Michelle for having us all over, everyone definitely seemed to have a grand-ole-time!

Kids Christmas Party

Saturday was my office's Christmas party for the kids, hosted at Lets Play. I thought the venue was a great idea that catered to kids of every age. So mommaz, Amy, Natalie and I headed over to the party together. Due to the lovely -33 windchill Saturday morning, the twins didn't come with us.
Natalie had a blast running around, her favourite part was the ball pool. She would grab a ball in each hand run around to the staircase go up around to the slide and throw them down the slide. She did this probably 20 times, and even made a few friends.
Then we went into the gym set with long tables to sit and eat before Santa made his visit. At this point Natalie wasn't the happiest of campers, so the picture with mom and Santa isn't the nicest one! We spent about 2 hours there, and overall it was a good time. So here are some snapshots of my Saturday morning.

- Enjoy!

Christmas Questions

Hey guys, Sarah over at Nurse Loves Farmer did a post filling in these questions, so I thought I'd join in on the fun:
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Everyone in my family knows this one - Egg Nog!! I try to hold off until at least December 1 to buy my first carton of the stuff, because it is a Christmas treat.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? My family grew up with present from family and friends wrapped under the tree, but they werent put under there until a couple days before Christmas, to prevent peeking. Our Santa present was set on the coffee table in the living room unwrapped on Christmas morning.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? I love the crisp look to a tree with just white lights on. My dad always did the white lights, and I know this year when I buy my tree it will have only white lights on it. The house we used to do white, red and green in a row and our evergreens across the back yard were alternated white, green, and red as well. Then we changed to the coloured evergreens and only white bordering the house. Beautiful, classic look.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No, I never grew up with mistletoe hanging, but I do have a green frog with a red ribbon attached to its foot called a Mistle Toad.
5. When do you put your decorations up? I have always done it the first weekend of December. This year I am going to Calgary that weekend, so I will do my dads house as well as my friends Mike & Jen house. This will be the third year I have gone over to their place and helped them decorate.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Probably the dessert platter J
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? I have to say the whole Christmas tradition done the same every year is my favorite memory.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I can't remember exactly when it was, but once my siblings and I did find out we still played along. My dad still gets up before we do to set out our Santa Present.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We were allowed to open 1 present on Christmas Eve after midnight mass, which was usually our Christmas pajamas.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Our tree at home is pre-lit, so I don't have to worry about the lights. I start with my red and gold bobbles, which go on the insides of the branches to enhance the lights. We have many decorations from the years and from my grandparents and parents. All 3 of us siblings also have our yearly ones with our names on them. Lots of fun decorations. Of course, lastly I put the angel on.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love! Snow = Sledding, hot chocolate, outdoor skating, snowman building, snowboarding etc..
12. Can you ice skate? I can, and I love it although my skates are packed away in storage. I think I may look for a used pair this year as I have no way of getting to mine.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? All of them are my favorite! I can't pick just one out of the bunch.
14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Spending time with my family, more now than ever that we have 3 babies to share in the joy.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Ginger Bread Cookies!!
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Putting on all of our Christmas CDs, making a hot cider/cocoa and decorating the house and tree. As well as our Christmas morning tradition of opening stockings first and then presents 1 by 1, one person at a time. Spending time with the family, lounging in your pjs all day and then making supper together. Love Love Love Christmas J
17. What tops your tree? An Angel at my dads place, I have yet to purchase my tree so I will see what I can find.
18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? I love to give, especially when its something thoughtful. Seeing the look of surprise on their faces is my favorite!
19. Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum? YUMMY, I am a candy-a-holic. Love candy canes!
20. Favorite Christmas show? A Charlie Brown Christmas, hands down! Also love Christmas Vacation, we always have to watch at least twice with dad J
21. What is your favorite Christmas song? I can't think of 1 favorite, I can tell you my favorite Christmas CD is the Charlie Brown Christmas CD!

I ♥ Kijiji

I first heard about Kijiji through a couple friends, but never really checked it out. When I started to look for condos I took a peek on the site to see what was available. I actually ended up finding my place on Kijiji.

First find: Condo - Score!

I moved in fairly quickly and realized I didn't have much for furniture for my living room. Off to Kijiji I went. I found an almost brand new coach, and a cute kitchen table small enough to fit in my condo that sits 4 comfortably. I have been looking for a chair for my living room for awhile, and finally came across an IKEA Poang Chair with matching Footstool in good condition. I called up the lady, and headed over after work to take a look. I thought it would fit into my room perfectly so I bought it.

Second Find: Beige Micro Suede Coach

Third Find: 4 Seater Solid Wood Table with 2 Chairs

Newest Find: IKEA Poang Chair with Footstool

Thank you Kijiji for being so awesome and helping me furnish my home on  budget! :)

Happy 6 Month Birthday Isabella & Rhodes

My Niece and Nephew turn 6 months old today, already. My goodness how time just flies all around us! I must say these past months my life have been nothing but joy watching  them grow and change so much. The best part is that they will only keep growing and keep changing for many years to come. I am so lucky to be so close to them, being able to pop on over to my brother & sister-in-law's house pretty much anytime I want for a visit. They aren't my children, but I swell with pride and joy anytime any three of them reach a new milestone. I can only imagine how I will be when I start to have my own children, many years down the road.

Happy Half-Birthday my Twinnies :)
