I’m back from my holiday and couldn’t be happier about my fabulous trip. I’ll start from the beginning just so you get a step by step of the holiday.
Tuesday night Amy and I stayed in Beaumont so that we were closer to the airport for our 9:30am flight. We arrived in Vancouver where we met up with my baby cousin Lauren and my Aunty Jo. We had a nice reunion with hugs and kisses then scooted over to Starbucks to enjoy while we caught up with one another. Just after 1:00pm we boarded out plane, destination Santa Ana. It was a nice clear day with blue skies so when we flew over the ocean we were able to see the beaches that stretch for miles. We arrived at the John Wayne Airport then hopped into a cab and drove to our hotel – which was literally right across the street from Disneyland! Since we got there in the later afternoon we didn’t want to use one of our day passes so we went to The Garden Walk and did a bit of shopping then later we headed to Downtown Disney to wander in the shops. We went to Tortilla Jo’s for supper which was pretty good. Did some more wandering and then headed back to the hotel.
In the morning Lauren woke us up nice and early to head to Disneyland for the day. And by day, I mean we were at Disney by 9am and we left the park when it closed at 10pm. During that time we managed to go on 21 rides, which is craziness. We enjoyed lots of snacks, the lineups weren’t too bad as it was a Thursday. There is so much to look at in Disneyland it definitely kept us all captivated for our whole trip.
Friday we decided to go shopping at the Outlet Mall for the morning. Us girls had lots of fun picking things out for each other - especially for Aunty Jo. We played dress up with her in the Ann Taylor store for more than an hour. It always nice to have someone who doesn't spend much on themselves be pampered for a bit. I ended up buying a new pair of sunnies and a pair of shoes. I didn't go too crazy as I do have my Vegas trip coming up quickly (YAY!). After our shopping we went and dropped our bags at the hotel and wandered across the way to California Adventure Park. We went on the big rollar coaster, the smaller rollar coaster, Soaring Over California, Ariel's ride, went to see the Muppets 3D show, and many more. We also got to see the World of Colour show later that night which is a water and projector show. It was really neat how they designed it. Very cool and I definitely recommend people to go see it!
Saturday we designated as our beach day. We rented a car and drove down to Huntington Beach. I must say that had to have been my highlight of the trip. We rented cruiser bikes and rode the miles and miles of beach for 4 hours. It was so gorgeous out we all got sun while riding. There were people everywhere playing beach volleyball, beach football, campfires roaring, kids playing in the ocean. We layed in the sand for hours reading and tanning, and Amy and I were the only two who went into the ocean. The water wasn't too bad temperature wise but Lauren said she was just too cold to go. It was an awesome day and I could definitely get used to that lifestyle that's for sure!
Sunday was our last day with our Disney park hopper passes so we headed to Disney at 10am and enjoyed some of our favourite rides including Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, the Tea Cups, Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. We had the pleasure of enjoying a character lunch at Goofy’s Kitchen in honor of Lauren’s 18th birthday. That was fun and deliscious – stuffing our faces with a wonderful buffet and getting to meet some of the characters. Back to the park we went soaking up every last minute of it until we left at 1:00am. That’s right, we were there from 10am – 1am. We are hard core haha!
Monday came quickly, but we spent a little time out at the pool until we had to call the cab to come take us away to the airport. Back to reality. Darn!
