Last Saturday Michelle, Isabella, Rhodes, Natalie, Hendrix and I headed down the highway to visit my dad and sister for the weekend. Michelle left with the kids earlier in the day on Friday and I came down after work. Friday night we had a delicious dinner of Ribs with Nonno while Amy was at work. Saturday morning we packed up into 2 vehicles and went for a drive to the Farmers Market in Millarville. We ended up going on a detour through Okotoks and went to see the house we used to live in when I was born. Pretty neat being able to see your childhood home. Dad says it's way rundown from the last time he saw it - not very surprising as it was 21 years ago that we lived there.
We spent a good hour at the Farmers Market looking at all the different tables, tasting Beef Jerky, and of course the Kettle Corn! We came across these little handmade matching outfits and had to buy them for the kiddos. The plan is to do some family pictures fairly soon with the new outfits, so you will have to wait to see them... picture miniature cowboy/cowgirls :).
Once we had all our goodies from the market we drove up to Bragg Creek for a picnic. We ended up at the provincial park where we laid out a blanket, enjoyed some food while soaking in the beautiful weather. Nat, dad and I walked down to the water for a little bit which was a blast. Natalie is so curious and loves to explore. She was calling the forest a jungle and kept stopping to say "You hear dat?" whenever a bird or a cricket would chirp, too cute!! We stayed out there for a couple hours, stopped in town for a visit to the candy store and then got back on the road to Calgary.
Saturday night we had a few friends over for a big pasta dinner and then spent the night out in the backyard and on the porch enjoying more of the fabulous weather. Sunday was Father's Day so we made a lovely breakfast for Nonno. Then it was time to pack up the van and get going back to Edmonton so the kids could spend the day with their papa (Andrew had to work and was unable to come to Calgary). It was a great weekend, even though it was a short one. I captured quite a few awesome shots over the couple days, here are a few for you to enjoy. Happy Saturday :)
